THE mother of Brianna Ghey has met with pupils at her daughter's school as part of a charity campaign.

Brianna was killed at the age of 16 in February this year - she was found in Culcheth Linear Park with multiple stab wounds.

Two teenagers are being held ahead of the trial in relation to Brianna's death later this year.

Brianna's mum, Esther, met with pupils at Birchwood Community High School as part of a charity campaign that seeks to ensure her daughter is remembered.

The Peace in Mind campaign is a joint venture between Esther Ghey and the Warrington Guardian, and its aim is to improve mental health support for schoolchildren across our town.

This will be achieved through fundraising for the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) in order to train school staff in Warrington with practices that will allow them to provide more support for pupils in the town.

Brianna Ghey was a student at Birchwood High at the time of her death, and the school hosted a 'Wear Pink with Pride for Brianna' day in spring, which raised funds for MiSP.

At the time, headteacher Emma Mills said: "We would like Brianna’s legacy to be one of helping and supporting the young people of Warrington with their mental health for many years to come.

"If we can come together as a town to raise the money to train staff in as many of our schools as possible in mindfulness practices, then I believe that we are making this a reality."
