THREE Warrington hairdressers have been styling the stars at New York Fashion Week.
Kayleigh Louise Edwards, who owns Kayleigh Louise Hair and Beauty Salon on Martin Avenue, flew out to the United States with colleagues Indeya Roberts and Tamzin Petch last week after a client asked them to be part of their team at the glittering annual event.
The talented trio arrived in New York on September 5 for their six-day stay with shows starting on September 9.
Kayleigh Louise, Indeya and Tamzin worked with 15 other hairdressers giving the fashion models a daily glow-up before they took to the catwalk.
Kayleigh Louise, who is 29 and lives in Great Sankey, said: “We had to be at the studios for 5.30am to get the models ready.
“Once we’d finished work we were able to watch New York Fashion Week – it was such an amazing opportunity to work with such a fantastic team.
“The whole experience was a pinch me moment – knowing we were in New York working on models about to walk the catwalk was great and something we’d like to do again.
“I’d love to London Fashion Week – we spoke about it while we were in New York.”
Kayleigh-Louise decided to open her own business when she moved back from Australia and she wanted to open a salon in Warrington with a touch of Oz.
The salon has won six awards throughout Cheshire and the rest of the UK, having been open for six years.
She added: “Since opening my salon I have always wanted to be recognised for the work I do and the reputation I have built up.
“To be able to showcase our work in America was amazing – it’s a dream come true.
“Last year, we worked on a photoshoot in Marbella but this was on another level.
“I’m so grateful to my client Gemma for giving us this opportunity.
“I liked being able to share the experience with my team.
“I’m so proud of them – we were a little nervous before we went but as soon as we arrived we all got stuck in and had the best time.”
