PLANS have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council, seeking permission to extend a popular farm's cafe.
Kenyon Hall Farm in Croft has submitted documents asking planning officers to give the nod for the farm's cafe to be extended.
The proposed extension is described on the council's planning portal as: "Aluminium framed, with a retractable canopy structure over the customer seating area and full-height vertical glazing along two side elevations, to create a light and airy all-weather space."
It is also anticipated that the new extension would provide an additional customer toilet, as well as increase the seating capacity in the cafe.
In terms of the construction of the proposed structure, the documents read: "The structure features an electrically operated acrylic awning to the north-facing side, supported on a powder-coated aluminium frame.
"The fabric canopy retracts in a concertina fashion. Illumination is provided by integral LED downlights set into the fabric support bars.
"The LEDs are in fixed positions ensuring that the light shines downwards only, and their brightness can be adjusted during installation in cases where there is a risk of light pollution causing a nuisance to neighbouring properties.
"The south-facing fixed part of the roof will be aluminium-framed, fully insulated, and externally finished with metal panels and/or a rubberised membrane. The pitch of the roof will match that of the existing building.
"The north elevation and part of the east elevation will feature full-height windows, whilst the remaining sides will be fully insulated and timber-clad."
As per the online planning portal, the application was received by the council in June, with the proposals validated in September.
The consultation period for this application closes on September 28, with a decision due to be made by town hall planners by October 30.
