THE future of a building home to the former Natwest in Stockton Heath looks to be confirmed.

The bank branch on London Road closed last September and the site - which was put up for sale - has stood empty since.

But now, a sign has been put up outside revealing that the building, which appears will be transformed into offices, is now ‘to let’.

It reads: “High quality offices up to 2,000 sq ft.

“Under refurbishment.”

It comes after the Warrington Guardian reported in July that an application relating to the building had been submitted.

Proposals included the repurposing of the former bank vaults and adjacent service courtyard and also sought permission for a new entrance to the first-floor office accommodation, as well as treatment to the shop front, replacement of windows, a first-floor extension, new flat roofs and remodelling of external space.

Applicant Langtree Property Partners said the changes would create the potential for 20 full-time jobs.

Plans stated: “The ground floor ‘shop front’ treatment is to be retained, repaired and redecorated.

“The four first floor windows are to be replaced with timber framed double glazed windows to match the style of the existing.

“Signage for the ground floor retail unit will form a separate planning application.

“The proposal is to repurpose the former bank vaults and adjacent service courtyard into a new entrance to the first-floor office accommodation.

“The external space is to be remodelled with new railings and gate feature to form a small courtyard with contemporary planting, external seating for office tenants and cycle storage.”
