TIRELESS comedian Ed Byrne has announced his return to Warrington next year.
The Irish stand-up observational comic will be bringing his new tour, Tragedy Plus Time, to the Parr Hall on May 12, 2024.
Attributed to Mark Twain, humour is defined as Tragedy Plus Time. Come and join Ed as he tests that formula by mining the most tragic event in his life for laughs.
During his 20 plus years in comedy, Ed has enjoyed huge critical and popular success in the UK and Ireland. He originally studied horticulture at the University of Strathclyde before dedicating himself to comedy.
And it was while he was at uni that Ed cut his teeth on the circuit, launching his own comedy night in the basement of a Glasgow pub.
Ed made his breakthrough when he was nominated for the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award at the 1998 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Since then the 51-year-old has performed hit tours, sold out many runs at Edinburgh Fringe, had a successful two-week run in the West End and appeared on radio, television, the stage and the big screen. A household name, in the past year Ed has appeared on the BBC’s Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, The Pilgrimage, Top Gear and QI.
