THERE are just a couple of weeks left in the summer holidays.

So you may be running out of things to do.

And if you have never made the short journey to Imagine That! in Liverpool then now is the time to try.

Hidden on an industrial estate just 10 minutes from the end of the M62, this is a children's dream.

So we took our four-year-old and two-year-old along to see what all the fuss is about.

Imagine That! is split into four zones. A role play area, art and crafts, science and a slime factory to finish.

Think a sort of Eureka or Manchester's Science Museum.

Imagine That! gives you 45 minutes in each zone, with a cafe in the first two if your little ones are feeling hungry (or if you need a coffee!).

The first is The Imagination Village the comes complete with is own construction site.

Warrington Guardian:

Children can work in a salon, pizza restaurant, present the news, appear in a show, go shopping or build their own brick wall.

It is free play on an enormous scale and it was tough to get them to move onto the next zone, an arts and craft centre.

There they made fridge magnets, and got to paint a real car.

Children love nothing more than getting messy and there is lots of that here. Luckily, there are aprons at hand.

There is also an outdoor play area and ours loved digging for dinosaur fossils and completing the obstacle course and building sandcastles.

Next stop is the science zone but forget about boring lab coats and equations.

This area has interactive experiments, water play, a giant bubble machine and loads of have-a-go areas.

We didn't get round all of them there was so much to do.

For our older child, there was a spy school to enjoy with codes and invisible ink. At other times of the year, you can make your own snow here.

Finally is the slime factory.

Children get to make their own slime and watch bubbles and dry ice. This before getting their hands on some ready made stuff.

Warrington Guardian:

All in all, Imagine That! is a brilliant way to spend three-hours and if your children are anything like ours, they won't want to leave.

It is open during school holidays, weekends and there are selected toddler sessions in term time.

Tickets are £15.95 for children, £12.95 for under 3s and adults are £7.95.
