WARRINGTON Borough Council has confirmed it will investigate reports of 'horrendous' hoarding in Latchford.
Reports come from a property off Thelwall Lane in Latchford, with neighbours claiming that the resident is a 'hoarder.'
Such is the extent of hoarding that neighbours say the smell is becoming an issue of public health.
One neighbour raised concerns with the Warrington Guardian, writing: "As you can see, it is an eyesore.
"The smell coming from it is horrendous, I have two children and they shouldn’t be living near this.
"We have elderly neighbours who have lived in the same property that joins onto the dump; they have lived there for 60 years and want something done about it."
Images sent by neighbours show that there are mounds of items piled high in the residence's yard.
One claim even suggests that the outside areas of the property are being used as a toilet by the resident.
According to reports, residents of the area have been in contact with the council for a number of years, though nothing has been done.
When asked whether they have approached the individual, the neighbours said: "We have, but [the resident] thinks it is fine to live like that."
Responding to a comment request from the Warrington Guardian, a spokesperson for Warrington Borough Council said: "We are aware of this situation and are currently making further enquiries and investigating.”
