STARBUCKS has responded to rumours of a new store opening in Stockton Heath.

It comes after rumours that the coffeehouse chain is set to open in the former NatWest site on London Road.

The bank branch shut in September last year, meaning the building has stood empty for nearly 12 months.

NatWest said this was due to the ‘dramatic change’ in the way that people bank.

Since its closure, there has been a number of rumours about what will open in the building which is located in the heart of the village.

A recent one is that Starbucks is set to move into the site.

However the multinational chain has confirmed that this is not true.

A spokesperson for Starbucks told the Warrington Guardian: “We are always looking for new locations and opportunities to bring the Starbucks Experience to customers in the UK, but at this time we have no updates to share about plans for Stockton Heath.”
