WARRINGTON Foodbank has announced that it has stocks of school uniforms available.
The initiative is part of the Trussell Trust's project to alleviate the burden of the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Foodbanks across the country are asking members of the public to donate preloved school uniforms that are no longer going to be in use, and Warrington is no exception.
With school uniform distribution taking place from the foodbank's site in the Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington Foodbank made the announcement on social media.
Posting on Facebook, the foodbank said: "We have a large range of, pre-loved, good condition school uniforms, including summer dresses and shorts, to fit all ages, available for immediate collection, from Golden Square Information Centre, Warrington WA1 1UZ.
"A big thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to donate school uniforms – your support is greatly appreciated."
The foodbank regularly updates residents as to which items of food it needs most in order to continue providing support to those who need it most across Warrington.
For example, the foodbank said this week that the five most-needed items are currently:
- Tinned meat
- Tinned fish
- Long-life milk
- Tinned fruit
- Long-life fruit juice
The foodbank's website says: "We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry, but we need your help to make this happen.
"Your gift of financial support, time, business partnership and food can make a real difference."
There are a number of different voluntary opportunities for people to get involved with the foodbank in Warrington, including positions as:
- Supermarket collection volunteers
- Warehouse volunteers
- Foodbank driver volunteers
- Foodbank Centre volunteers
- Information Centre volunteers
