ONE of the biggest fixtures in Warrington’s events calendar has proven to be a success again in 2023.
Disability Awareness Day is the biggest disability event in the world, which began here in Warrington and returned in 3032 for its 32nd staging.
All those years ago at the inaugural event, the aim was to create a day that would raise awareness of people with disabilities and to create a hub providing help and support to those that need it.
Years on, the event and charity Warrington Disability Partnership are still thriving, and helping hundreds of people all over the world.
Disability Awareness Day took place today, Sunday, at Walton Hall and Gardens, with more than 100 exhibits and in excess of 100 charities present, as well as health and social care education providers.
There was a sports zone where attendees could try different sports such as scuba diving, wheelchair tennis, football, rugby and martial arts.
The main arena had guide dog display teams, a samba band performance, a marching band and dance performances.
For music lovers, the performing arts marquee saw the UK’s leading disabled artists performing sets, along with a choir and much more.
Here are some of our favourite photos from this year’s event snapped by photographer Mike Boden.
