FOR just £2, residents will be able to hop on a bus and get from Warrington to Manchester Airport.
That is part of a new service being run between Warrington Borough Council and Transport for Greater Manchester.
The service will be operated by Warrington's Own Buses from Sunday, July 23.
In a statement released by Warrington Borough Council, it was announced that the new bus service - the X5 - will run every hour from the bus interchange.
The announcement also explains that for a £2 ticket passengers will experience the journey cheaper than other forms of transport, and without having to pay the drop-off charges at the airport.
Launching on July 23, the service will follow this journey, with the first service running at 5.08am:
- Warrington Bus Interchange
- Warrington Bank Quay station
- Victoria Park
- Kingsway South
- Bradshaw Lane
- The Pickering Arms
- Brook Lane
- Lymm Cross
- Lymm Church
- The Jolly Thresher
- The Stamford Arms
- Priory Road
- Altrincham Interchange
- Hale Barns
- World Freight Centre
- Manchester Airport
It is expected that the journey should last around one hour and 20 minutes from start to end, though this will be subject to traffic and travel conditions.
Ben Wakerley, managing director for Warrington’s Own Buses, said: “We are always looking at ways we can expand the network for the people of Warrington and give them great public transport connections.
"The new X5 represents incredibly great value travel to Manchester Airport whether it’s for holidays or work.
"Joining our popular Cat5 route this service is another positive addition to the Warrington Bus network.”
