A MASSIVE whale is coming to Warrington town centre.
The life-sized 50ft inflatable sperm whale will be coming to Warrington for the first time.
The whale will be in the town as part of a weekend of free and fun activities on July 29 and July 30 themed around the deep blue sea and protecting the environment.
An 'aquabatic' diver, a shipwrecked pirate and a mermaid will have stories to tell.
Shows will be held every half hour in Queen's Gardens, in front of the Parr Hall, between 11am and 4pm (last performance 3.30pm).
Meanwhile there will be a parade, culminating in an en masse dance in Time Square where everyone can join in, and an aerial performance by Tuckshop Dance Theatre in Palmyra Square.
And back by popular demand, everyone’s favourite eco-friendly puppet Eko returns to Time Square. Out of the Deep Blue is a large-scale outdoor performance featuring a sea giant puppet and a contemporary dancer, inspired by the themes of the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis.
Meanwhile, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery will be tying into the environmental themes with the launch of 'Wake Me Up Before You Dodo' with new art by Warrington's 'Mini David Attenborough', Britain's Got Talent finalist Aneeshwar Kunchala, and sculptor Val Hunt.
This weekend of events has been made possible thanks to funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and help from our partners at Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Market and the Warrington Business Improvement District (BID).
