A POLICE detainee has been locked up for his disgusting actions while in custody.
Adam Clare appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 3, following his actions the previous day.
The 30-year-old, of Orford, was taken to Runcorn Custody Suite and placed in cell six.
The court heard from Michael O’Kane, representing the Crown Prosecution Service, who explained how he ‘flicked bodily fluids’ inside, namely spit and semen ‘in protest’.
He was subsequently charged with criminal damage.
According to the charge he admitted, Clare, ‘without lawful excuse damaged cell six while intending to damage such property, or being reckless as to whether such property would be damaged’.
District judge John McGarva remarked that appropriate punishment could only be achieved by way of an immediate custodial sentence.
This was due to the severity and nature of the offence, as well as the defendant’s previous convictions.
Clare, of Grasmere Avenue in Orford, was sentenced to two weeks in prison.
No stranger to the courts or custody, Clare was jailed for 18 months in January 2017 after burgling his then 83-year-old grandmother.
He stole cash from her coat pocket and purse to feed his cannabis and gambling addiction.
Clare appeared before the same court in January last year after he smacked a man over the head with a brush and smashed his car windscreen.
For that, he was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison.
