TWO more of Warrington's restaurants and takeaways have been handed new food hygiene ratings.
These come following inspections undertaken by the Food Standards Agency.
Food hygiene inspections are undertaken routinely, though there is a delay between inspections being carried out and the results being posted online.
The two new results posted by the FSA, for that reason, are from inspections that were carried out in May.
One of the eateries that has been given a new rating is a restaurant based at Gulliver's World Theme Park.
Lagado's Restaurant and Grill was inspected on May 30.
The restaurant was given a rating of three-out-of-five at its latest inspection.
According to the FSA's website, Lagado's Restaurant and Grill was ranked as 'generally satisfactory' across the board.
The main categories for the FSA inspections are:
- Hygienic food handling - Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene
- Management of food safety - System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future
Another eatery was also given a new rating by the FSA.
Roast, based at Birchwood Shopping Centre, provides takeaway hot and cold food, and is an incredibly popular spot for the area.
It is not unusual to see long queues at Birchwood's Roast at meal times, with many local workers choosing to venture to the shopping centre to purchase lunchtime meals.
Again, Roast was graded as three-out-of-five for food hygiene by the FSA.
Roast was ranked as 'good' for hygienic food handling, and 'generally satisfactory' for the cleanliness of facilities and building, and 'generally satisfactory' for the management of food safety.
All information is taken from the Food Standards Agency and is accurate at the time of publication.
