Tracey’s tireless efforts to support her pupils and communicate with them in a way that works for each individual are commendable.

Parents wanted to nominate Tracey for this honour as a special thank you for her hard work.

One nomination for Tracey said: “My daughter is speech delayed and Miss Woods has taken on the role of doing speech therapy with her.

“My daughter’s speech has come on leaps and bounds.

“Both my daughters adore her and she has also helped my twins’ confidence grow so much.

“She is always there to listen and help when she can - nothing is ever too much trouble.

“She goes above and beyond for every child and all the children look up to her.”

The nomination continued: “My daughter is autistic with a communication disorder and finds it so hard communicating with other people and children.

“Since having Miss Woods as a teaching assistant she's really come out of her shell.

“Miss Woods has worked with her one to one and sits with her when she’s having meltdowns.

“She’s gone above and beyond to make sure my daughter has the best start.

“Being a constant is a big thing for my daughter and Miss Woods has certainly been there for her.

“She is a fantastic teaching assistant and she makes so much effort with not just my child but with the other the children she works with.”

WATCH TRACEY RECEIVE HER AWARD:

Bewsey Lodge headteacher Emma Williams said: "Tracey is a committed member of our team who is passionate about providing the very best support and experiences for the children.

"Alongside supporting in the classroom, Tracey manages the running of lunchtimes so she sees most of the children every day.

"She ensures that the children are happy and safe and she is always there as someone to go to if they feel they need support.

"Tracey has worked at Bewsey Lodge for almost 27 years and during that time, she has helped so many children become happy and confident young people; not to mention the invaluable support she has given to whichever teacher she is working alongside.

"I am thrilled that Tracy has been given this recognition - it is so well-deserved."
