A PENKETH man was moved to tears after a stranger’s kind gesture.
89-year-old Frank Credland was admiring some yellow flowers that reminded of his late wife while doing his food shop at Tesco in Grappenhall.
While he did not purchase the beautiful bouquet of Yellow Calandiv, he suddenly noticed the same bunch of flowers appear at the end of his shopping basket after a thoughtful stranger had taken it upon themselves to purchase the flowers for him.
Frank was immediately brought to tears by the kind gesture and thanked the individual.
His daughter Heather Clark shared the act of kindness on social media with the hope of once again thanking the person responsible.
She said her dad, originally from Penketh, moved away just before the start of the Second World War when he was about four years old and only returned to Warrington a year ago.
“He has felt very welcomed by everyone and as though he has come home, but this event really touched him,” she said.
“His greatest concern was that the lady heard his thanks, as he didn't turn to her because of the tears in his eyes.
“On a personal level I have such gratitude for that lady's kindness, his plant sits on his table and each day he is reminded that there are good people in this world.”
