A POPULAR food reviewer has hailed a Warrington eatery as having the best burger he has ever had.
Danny Malin, the host of the YouTube series Rate My Takeaway, paid a visit to Café at the End of the Universe in Warrington Market.
He visited the market last week as part of his series which follows him on his search to find the best and worst takeaways mainly in the north of England. His YouTube account has more than 600,000 subscribers and his videos have amassed more than 128 million views.
Danny told viewers how he decided to visit Café at the End of the Universe after receiving a number of recommendations – namely for their Kevin Bacon burger.
“Apparently this place is knocking out some absolutely banging food,” he told viewers.
“The burgers are to die for, apparently.
“I am going to see if it is going to knock me out of this universe.”
Danny tried three items, one of which he had heard about prior to his visit, from the eatery’s menu which was recommended by a member of staff.
He tried:
Guardians of the Garlic Sea – boneless chicken wings marinated in buttermilk and tossed in garlic sauce and parmesan cheese
Pennywise burger – double beef patty, smoke bacon, Derry cheese, fairground onions, ketchup, mustard, nacho-coated jalapeno poppers, nacho cheese sauce, and a corn dog on a pretzel bun
Kevin Bacon burger – double beef patty, smoked bacon, cheese, fried onions, barbeque pulled pork, bacon jam, baconnaise, and bacon Frazzles on a seeded brioche bun.
After setting up his pop-up table and camping chair on Time Square, which has become his trademark, and taking pictures with a number of starstruck market visitors, it was time for the food reviewer to tuck in.
Starting with the chicken wings, Danny was impressed.
“It is just the right type of flavouring if you just like a nice bit of chicken with a little bit of cheese,” he said.
“These are absolutely gorgeous, I love them.”
Next, Danny took on the Pennywise burger which he was also a big fan of.
He said: “I can see why they have called it Pennywise because there is no clowning about here.
“Oh wow, these parties are absolutely beautiful.”
He finished off his sampling with what he had come for, the Kevin Bacon burger.
Before eating the burger, he said it reminds him of the best one he had ever had.
“This is what I came for, this is what got my attention with people messaging in,” he told viewers.
“Someone sent me a picture of this and said you have got to try the Kevin Bacon.
“Look at this bad boy, that is a monster.
“I can’t wait to get into this.”
After trying it, it certainly lived up to his expectations with him branding it as the best burger he has ever had.
He continued: “All I can say is wow, what a fusion of flavour.
“The patties are cooking to perfection and seasoned well.
“That is just bang on.
“When I took that first bite a bit of saliva came out of my mouth because it just made it water straight away
“This is blowing me away
“Taking me to the end of the universe, that is what that has just done.
“I said to you when I saw it, it looked like the best burger I’d had but I am going to put it out there and say to you this is now just jumped to the top of my list for burgers.
“This burger, the flavour in this is absolutely insane.
“That is absolutely banging.”
The review was uploaded last night and has already attracted more than 50,000 views.
The Café at the End of the Universe team took to Facebook to share their reaction to the glowing, flawless review.
The post reads: “I know a lot of you have been eagerly awaiting this review since he came to visit us at Warrington Market last week and its finally up.
“We literally couldn't have paid him to do a better review, and in fact, he was the one who paid us for the privilege.
“I'm confident in the product we sell and how good our staff are, so I'd always hope we would do well.
"However for him to say we are the best burger he's had and give us a ten has blown me away.”
