ONE of Warrington's design companies has been chosen to help bring to life a new destination that promises the best in food and entertainment.
The design company, DV8, will work with a council on Merseyside to create a state-of-the-art hotspot for music, as well as food and drink.
This will be the ultimate in evening entertainment, and will also reflect the history of the destination, too.
'Salt and Tar' is the name that has been chosen for the spot, which will have the capacity for 3,000 guests and will provide riverside views for diners.
DV8 has created the designs for the site, which will be in Bootle, Merseyside.
Working in partnership with Sefton Council, the design embraces an electric mix of colourful and upcycled elements, complemented by lush greenery to offer a vibrant and dynamic event space, where visitors can indulge in a diverse range of flavours while enjoying live performances and a bustling social atmosphere.
Cllr Ian Maher, leader of Sefton Council said: “The new Salt and Tar branding and design of the site combined with an exciting and developing programme of events for the coming year will help to cement the area’s role and contribute to the revitalisation of The Strand and wider Bootle town centre economy.”
'Salt and Tar' refers to the town’s rich industrial heritage, with Brotherton’s Tar Distillery on Hawthorne Road and the area’s historic link to the salt trade.
Lee Birchall, managing director of DV8 Designs, said: “This is a hugely exciting opportunity for the area, and we are proud to have been appointed once again as trusted concept designers for regeneration projects for councils.
"Our experience and expertise in this area have proven to be strong conduits to driving revenue into the local economy.”
DV8 specialises in designing bars, restaurants, distilleries and food halls, including the EngineRooms at Birchwood Park, and the £1.4million successful regeneration of Southport Market.
It is expected that Salt and Tar will open later this summer.
