CRAWLERS’ newest single ‘Messiah’ has been named the ‘Hottest record in the world’ by BBC Radio 1.
The four-piece band, two members of which are from Warrington, will return to their grune sensibilities with ‘Messiah’, releasing tomorrow (June 7). The follow up to recent single ‘That Time of Year Always’, the band have described it as harkening back to Linkin Park’s ‘Meteora’ era.
Crawlers, a band made popular in Liverpool who played many of their early gigs in Warrington, are made up of Holly Minto, Liv May, Amy Woodall, and Harry Breen.
Liv and Amy were both born in Warrington, having met at St. Gregory’s Catholic School.
Many of the bands earliest gigs were held at FC2 in town.
Singer Holly Minto has said that new single ‘Messiah’ “candidly addresses what it feels like to exploit one’s sadness for the sake of creating art.”
‘Hottest record in the world’ is a title given out by Clara Amfo on her BBC Radio 1 show.
This evening, at 6pm, Liv and Holly appeared on Clara’s show where they debuted the new single, alongside the announcement of the song as the ‘Hottest record in the world’.
'Messiah' arrives as the band gear up for a busy summer of live activity, continuing this week with an intimate headline show in at Omeara, London, June 8, a supporting slot at YUNGBLUD’s Eden Project show, June 10, and their debut performances at this year's Download Festival and Glastonbury Festival.
