A PUB in Croft is to host a fundraiser to support a local community kitchen after its till was robbed at the weekend.
The Sunflower Community Kitchen, which is based at the Daten Sports Club in Culcheth, reported that money from its till was stolen at the weekend.
According to one volunteer from the kitchen, the money was stolen by a man who pretended to enquire about volunteering opportunities.
They called it a 'calculated' move.
Now, however, a pub in Croft is making an effort to help fundraise for the kitchen in order to earn the money back.
The General Elliot will host a coffee and cake morning on Friday, June 2, in order to fundraise for the Sunflower Community Kitchen.
In a poster for the event, the General Elliot's management said: "Join us for your morning cuppa & sweet treat for just £5 (with all proceeds donated to the community kitchen to bridge the gap of their losses last week).
"Yes, you heard right, a cuppa, a cake and a whole lot of doing the right thing to support our community.
"What better way to start a Friday, eh?"
The fundraising coffee event will take place at the General Elliot in Croft on Friday, June 2, from 9am.
