IT would appear as though Banksy could have been at work in Warrington.
A mysterious piece of wall art has appeared - seemingly at random - in the heart of a village in the town.
Could the enigmatic graffiti artist have had a hand in the new urban artwork?
Appearing over the bank holiday weekend in Culcheth, the artwork depicts a child painting a pink love heart.
Faye Greenwood spotted the artwork on Sunday morning when walking her dog, and she does not recall seeing it on Saturday.
She said: "It’s over the road from Culcheth Co-Op, it must have been painted overnight.
"But [it] was not there on Saturday I’m sure."
Faye says that its meaning remains a mystery to her, adding: "I don’t understand the meaning of it - a boy painting a pink heart?"
Beginning as a freehand graffiti artist in the early 1990s, Banksy has remained anonymous ever since - he has conducted interviews with newspapers and media outlets, though his identity has been kept a closely-guarded secret.
Artworks began appearing in Birmingham before Banksy moved to London.
Some of his more famous works depict a young girl holding a red balloon, a rioter holding a bouquet of flowers, and the House of Commons with apes sitting rather than MPs.
Most of Banksy's works are black-and-white, with one element of colour - so the Culcheth mural probably is not the work of the anonymous graffiti artist.
But who knows? Perhaps the secretive urban Picasso has packed up his things and moved up north.
Could Banksy be in Warrington?
