WALTON Children’s Zoo is celebrating the new arrival of three adorable baby goats.
First time mums Nina and Toffee welcomed their newborns back in early May, with Nina giving birth to twins first on May 9 – one boy and one girl – and Toffee giving birth to one girl on May 11.
Longstanding ranger at the zoo, Peter Cookson-Dean, said: “We are really pleased with this year’s kids, all three will be staying with us and joining our educational program in the future.”
With none of the new arrivals yet to be named, Walton Zoo is now requesting the help of the public to pick the ‘perfect titles’ for the trio.
The winners who are selected will not only have the honour of name the baby goats but will also receive a year’s goat adoption.
Time is now ticking as the competition is open and will close in two weeks’ time at midday on Friday 2 June, with the winners being announced the week following.
Entrants are asked to comment their name suggestions on the competition post on Walton Hall and Garden’s Facebook page.
Peter added: “We’re looking forward to seeing what ideas our visitors come up with for their names.”
Visitors can go and visit the kids now, as they are on display in the paddock between the pigs and the donkeys, along with the other animals in the Children’s Zoo every day between 10.30am and 5pm with free entry.
