A NEW club set to open in the centre of Warrington wants its opening hours to extend until 6am.
It was reported that a new club will be opening on Friars Gate, taking over from the Trilogy nightclub that closed earlier this year.
The site was also home to the Showbar nightclub, before that closed down following the pandemic.
Located at 15-17 Friars Gate, the nightclub space was put on the market in February this year, and was subsequently snapped up - hence the new club set to open.
The new nightclub will be called Truth, and a formal opening date is yet to be set.
A public notice has been posted by the council on its website, highlighting a request from the owners of the building.
The request is for the hours of operation of the nightclub to be changed - to do this, the owners require the permission of the council, due to the unorthodox hours that nightclubs operate within.
As per the notice, the developers wish to do the following things:
- Change the opening hours of the club to 10pm-6am on a Friday and Saturday - as well as on Sundays before bank holidays
- Change the licensed hours - when the club is allowed to serve alcohol - to 10pm-5.30am on a Friday and Saturday - as well as on Sundays before bank holidays
As per the notice, Warrington Borough Council says: "Representations which should be made in writing may be made by a responsible authority or any other person to Warrington Borough Council to be received at the address below by no later than June 21."
Posting on social media, Truth nightclub said: "Welcome to Truth, Warrington’s newest nightclub experience!
"With state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, multiple dance floors, and VIP sections, Truth offers an immersive and unforgettable night out.
"Our music policy is eclectic, featuring a mix of genres played by some of the most talented DJs in the country.
"Stay tuned for updates on our opening weekend and get ready to experience the truth of the Warrington nightlife scene."
Warrington Borough Council added: "It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application; the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction being £5,000."
