AN uninsured vehicle has been seized by officers from Cheshire Constabulary patrolling in Birchwood.
The vehicle, which is a black van, was stopped by officers on Warrington Road, Risley.
Officers pulled over the vehicle, and following a numberplate check it was revealed that it was on the road without insurance.
Taking to social media, the constabulary said: "Local neighbourhood officers patrolling Culcheth and Birchwood have seized this vehicle for having no insurance this afternoon.
"Officers patrolling Warrington Road spoke to the driver who didn't have insurance.
"The vehicle has now been taken off the road until the owner gets insurance."
Driving without insurance is a crime, and can be punishable by a fixed penalty of £300 and six licence points.
Should the case go to court, offenders face an unlimited fine and can be disqualified from driving.
The police do have the power to seize uninsured vehicles, and in extreme cases, the vehicle may be destroyed.
