NEIGHBOURHOOD Weekender returns to Victoria Park this weekend.

This weekend is playing host to some huge names as Neighbourhood Weekender brings music on the biggest stage back to Warrington.

Below we round up what both revellers and residents can expect.

Who is playing at Neighbourhood Weekender this year?

The two headliners are Paul Heaton with special guest Rianne Downey on the Saturday, with Pulp playing out the main stage on Sunday night.

Other big names include Anne Marie, Ocean Colour Scene, The Kooks, and Sugababes.

How many stages are there at Neighbourhood Weekender 2022?

Three – the Main Stage, The Big Top and the Viola Beach Stage.

Should I download the official app? 

The Neighbourhood Weekender app features a number of useful items for your average festival goers. Gone are the days where you had to sit down with a pen and paper figuring out which acts you could make it to across the stages, with a custom festival schedule available.

Add the acts you want to see, and the app will order them by time and stage showing whether the rush from Big Top to Main Stage is doable to run from your unknown indie darlings to your chart-topping favourites.

As well as this, you have access to a live map and friend finding options to help save that one friend who always gets lost on the Saturday and turns up 4 days later in Tunisia.

What other entertainment is there?

Visit The Neighbourhood Inn for a quick pint, or head to The Corner Shop to dance while the DJ throws out sweets, crisps and other treats.

The Neighbourhood Inn will also be hosting ‘Rockaoke’, where attendees can sing on stage alongside a live rock band.

Also for the second year, there is a silent disco in The Library.

You can also tie the knot at the Inflatable Church during the weekend, or jump on rides such as the ‘Wave-swinger’, ‘Booster’, or ‘Waltzer’.

What time do gates open and close?

On Saturday and Sunday, gates open at midday and curfew is 10.30pm.

It is a non-camping event.

Where do you park for Neighbourhood Weekender?

Please be aware there is no car parking on site. Festival car parking is located at Sir Thomas Boteler School and is accessed via Wash Lane (follow festival signage). This is also the pick up/drop off site.

The car park is a five to 10 minute walk from the festival site.

Car parking tickets must be bought in advance and you can get them in the same way as entry tickets. Just click on the day or days you are going and add car parking ticket (£11.25 per day or £22 for the weekend) to your order.

Using public transport is encouraged though. Victoria Park is about a 20-minute walk from Warrington Bank Quay station and Warrington Central train stations.

Or by bus, the Number 11 and 11a services stop at Knutsford Road Victoria Park. It takes five minutes from Warrington Bus Interchange.

Entering the festival site

At the gate, you will find the box office for any queries and the ticket scanning lanes. Take your print out issued by your ticket agent which will be exchanged for a wristband. All bags will be searched.

Do I need to bring cash for Neighbourhood Weekender?

The bars and most of the food outlets are operating on a cashless basis again so make sure you bring a card.

Limited food outlets will be accepting cash and there will be no cash machines on site.

What can't I bring in with me to Neighbourhood Weekender?

  • Any bags bigger than A4 in size
  • Illegal substances, this covers all drugs and legal highs, for which the festival has zero tolerance
  • Medication (if prescribed and needed for the day, it can be permitted if a prescription is brought and presented to security)
  • Any glass
  • Cans, including spray cans
  • Laser equipment or pens
  • Fireworks, Chinese Lanterns, flares, klaxons
  • Anything that can be used as a weapon
  • Bikes, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, or any personal motorised vehicles bar a mobility scooter
  • ANY ITEM which “may be used in an illegal or offensive manner.”
  • Food and drink (a refillable water bottle is allowed)
  • Any animals, bar assistance dogs, are banned from the premises

Are there any age restrictions for Neighbourhood Weekender?

All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and have their own ticket. Under fives are not permitted.

What is the traffic plan?

The festival will see a number of routes in Latchford, Howley and Warrington town centre shut between 9am on Friday, May 27, and 1am on Monday, May 30.

Some will be accessible by permit holders only – while Bridge Foot, Bridge Street, Mersey Street, Wash Lane, Vernon Street and a section of Knutsford Road will be fully closed between 10pm and 11.30pm on the three days of the festival in order to allow revellers to leave the site safely.

A number of roads will close over the course of the weekend of Neighbourhood Weekender.

A Temporary Prohibition of Driving Order be in place from 9am on Friday May 26 to 1am on Saturday May 27; 9am on Saturday May 27 to 1am on Sunday May 28; 9am on Sunday May 28 to 1am on Monday May 29.

  • Knutsford Road from its junction with Wilderspool Causeway to its junction with Hallaway Knutsford Road (eastbound) from its junction with Hallaway to its junction with Grange Avenue
  • Knutsford Road (westbound) from its junction with Hallaway to its junction with the northbound gyratory section of Knutsford Road outside number 730
  • Hallaway
  • Mersey Street (northbound) from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Academy Street
  • Mersey Street (southbound) from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Wharf Street
  • Warrington Bridge
  • Warrington New Bridgege at Neighbourhood Weekender 2021

What is the advice for residents?

If you live near Victoria Park, make sure you display your resident parking permit in your vehicles for the duration of the festival.

If you have any issues with your parking permit, or haven’t yet received your permit and you live within the resident parking zone, you can visit the box office on site for advice.

The office will be open from 8am to 8pm in the week leading up to the festival. Please take proof of address with you.
