WARRINGTON has been named as one of the best places for a night out in the UK.
The town has ranked at number three on a list of the top 10 best night outs, beating the likes of Edinburgh and Cambridge.
The study by Get Licensed analysed the number of venues per head, the cost of a pint and a range of safety issues.
In Warrington, it was found that there are 38 bars and clubs per 100,000 people and 169 pubs per 100,000 people. Perhaps most importantly, the study revealed that the average cost of a pint in the town is £5.11.
In terms of safety factors, 27 per cent of revellers were worried of being mugged or robbed while 11 per cent were worried of being assaulted and 52 per cent of people felt safe walking alone at night.
Overall, the town was ranked 8.01 out of 10 on a night out score.
In at number 1 was Newcastle upon Tyne which received an overall rating of 8.19 closely followed by York with 8.14.
Meanwhile London was crowned the worst city with a night out with a score of 1.73.
