AN investigation is under way following a ‘large’ building fire on a busy road in Warrington.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Winwick Road at around 4.20pm this afternoon, Monday.
Six fire engines from Lymm, Warrington, Penketh, Widnes, Birchwood and Greater Manchester attended the scene where all occupants were evacuated.
Police and ambulance also attended the incident.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Firefighters made good progress early on to control the fire and prevent it from spreading.
“All occupants were evacuated and the fire has now been fully extinguished.
“An investigation is underway to determine the cause.”
A Cheshire Police spokesperson added: “Officers are currently at the scene assisting with traffic management.”
There is currently heavy traffic in the area as a result of the fire.
