CULCHETH's Post Office is now 'at risk of closure,' its manager has said.
In a desperate plea posted online, the owner of Culcheth Post Office - Farhan Ugradar - explained the dire situation that the village's post office now faces.
Farhan has ran the village's post office for more than a decade, and is a familiar face to many in Culcheth.
In a post on social media, Farhan said that the business is no longer sustainable, and that the post office is at risk of closing down for good.
He posted: "The post office is really struggling and has been struggling for a while to the point where it has become not profitable and unsustainable and is at risk of closure.
"Unless something changes and more people start using the post office again, there is an increased likelihood that there will be no more post office in Culcheth.
"We really need everybody’s help and support and I believe that if everyone stops looking at their convenience and looks at the bigger picture, I am sure nobody will want to lose their local post office."
Farhan - known locally as Faz - then listed some of the many services offered by post offices, including:
- Free Cash deposits for most major banks
- Free cheque deposits for most major banks
- Free cash withdrawals
- On-demand travel money for the majority of currencies
- Savings accounts and ISAs
Faz added: "Please help your local post office to stay open and become a sustainable business once more."
Culcheth Post Office can be found at 7 Jackson Avenue, Culcheth - its opening hours can be found online.
