TWO Warrington takeaways have bounced back after being given low hygiene ratings by the Food Standards Agency.
Brothers Burgers, off Bold Street, and 84 Thai Chilli, off Chester Road, were both given ratings of one out of five by the FSA earlier this year.
Now, however, the eateries have bounced back after being given low scores by the agency.
Brothers Burgers was slapped with the low hygiene rating in March, but was reevaluated on April 27, and has been awarded with a rating of five out of five.
The popular burger spot has been reassessed and rated as 'good' across the three main inspection criteria:
- Hygienic food handling
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building
- Management of food safety
The Food Standards Agency visits registered eateries in order to assess the cleanliness, hygiene and safety of premises - following an inspection, there is a delay between the score being given and the report being made public.
The FSA's website was updated with Brothers Burgers new score on Tuesday, May 2.
Brothers Burgers opened in Warrington in January 2021, and is owned by brothers Darren and Steven Leigh - who launched the brand in St Helens in 2018.
Another takeaway that has bounced back since being given a poor hygiene rating is 84 Thai Chilli.
The takeaway specialises in food inspired by Thailand, including pad Thai, stir fry, and curries.
84 Thai Chilli was initially inspected at the beginning of March, where the takeaway was given a rating of one out of five - but following a reinspection that took place on Friday, April 28, the eatery has been marked as four out of five.
In terms of hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of the facilities, 84 Thai Chilli was graded 'very good,' and its management of food safety was ranked as being 'generally satisfactory.'
All food hygiene ratings are taken from the Food Standards Agency website and are accurate at time of publication.
