A BIRCHWOOD-based media business has received major recognition after being shortlisted for People’s Choice category at the North West Family Business Awards 2023.
Blue Whale Media was founded in 2010 and has grown into a ‘trusted and reputable’ web and marketing agency, and may soon be the winners of the prestigious business award.

The business offers many services within the media industry including web design, web development, search engine optimization, social media marketing and more.
Ran by The Family Business Community, the yearly awards ceremony celebrate the family ethos in business all across the northwest and a panel of judges review applications sent in to decide which business win a number of categories.
After being ‘inundated’ with ‘incredible entries’ this year, the judging panel are said to have had a difficult job on their hands decided on the finalist for the category of People’s Choice.
Founder and director of the business awards, Sue Howorth said: “The judges had extremely difficult decisions to make so the finalists should be extremely proud of themselves.”
In addition to this, co-director Dave Clarkson said: “A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to fill out an application form and enter.
“We have been absolutely blown away by the strength and diversity of applications.”
The finalists will now receive a visit from the ‘specially selected panel’ of ‘expert’ judges before the judges make their final decisions.
The winners will be announced at glamourous awards ceremony held at The Concorde Conference Centre, near Manchester Airport on Friday May 19.
