UNIVERSITY Challenge saw competing teams baffled over a question regarding Warrington Rylands this week.
Jeremy Paxman, who hosts the highbrow quiz show, saw the teams rendered speechless by a question that involved the Warrington football team.
Airing on Monday evening, April 17, the teams that featured on the show were both from Cambridge University.
One of the questions asked on the show revolved around Warrington Rylands football club, among other clubs.
Paxman asked: "Warrington Rylands, South Shields, North Shields, and Thatcham Town are among recent winners of which knockout cup contested by clubs in tiers nine to 11 of the English football pyramid?"
After a few seconds' delay, an answer was proposed by a member of the Jesus College, Cambridge, team.
Sameer Aggarwal, who studies engineering, offered: "The FA Trophy?"
Jeremy Paxman shot down the student's incorrect answer, before offering the question to the Newnham College, Cambridge, team.
The Newnham captain, Roma Ellis, tried: "Minor Leagues Championship?"
Again, this was shot down by 72-year-old Paxman: "No, it's the FA Vase."
Warrington Rylands won the FA Vase in 2021, beating Binfield 3-2 in the final hosted at Wembley Stadium.
Rylands' three goals came in a hattrick for striker Elliott Nevitt, who signed for the Blues in 2020, before moving on to become a forward at Tranmere Rovers, and then Crewe Alexandra in January this year.
University Challenge will next be available on BBC Two on Monday, April 24, at 9pm.
