A HOME providing ‘respite care’ for children with complex health needs in Padgate has been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted for the tenth year running.
Run by the council, Westland Drive children’s home cares for youngsters between the ages of four and 17 who have additional health needs, autism and disabilities.
The faultless team at Westland Drive were given the highest grade for all three categories of the inspection.
These include an ‘outstanding’ approach for the overall experiences and progress of young people, how well they are helped and protected, and the impact and effectiveness of leaders and managers.
In the official report, the inspectors praised the Home, saying it ‘provides highly effective services that consistently exceed the standards of good’.
Every child that attends the setting is allocated a key worker who lays out a care plan which the report highlighted is ‘carefully planned around children’s individual needs’.
According to inspectors, the children ‘thoroughly enjoy’ their time at the home and they ‘receive exceptional care from a stable, skilled and experienced staff team’.
Cllr Sarah Hall, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Westland Drive has achieved yet another ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspection, making this the tenth consecutive time that the home has achieved the top rating.
“This is a truly fantastic achievement, and the continued success is a result of the team’s hard work and dedication to our children and families and ensuring that services are delivered to the highest standards.
“I’m particularly proud to hear inspectors praised the ‘stable, skilled and experienced’ team who run the home, and it is fantastic that the work of this team is recognised.”
“Providing outstanding care and support for our children, young people, and their families is our highest priority, and I’m delighted that Warrington has such a well-respected facility that provides vital care and support.
“To have upheld this excellent standard for a decade is a wonderful achievement, and I’m positive that the team at Westland Drive will continue to provide this high quality level of service to in the future.”
