BROOMFIELDS Junior School has collected more than 1,000 items for Warrington Foodbank.
The collection took place as part of a school-wide event to support the foodbank, which is operated as part of the Trussell Trust.
One of the day's activities included pupils running a 'mini marathon' at the school, which saw pupils run a total of 270 miles.
The mini marathon took place as the children showed support for one of the school's teachers, Matthew Hennessey, who will be taking on the Manchester marathon next month - he has previously taken part in the London marathon for charity, too.
Another member of school's family is Mr Hughes, one of the parents, and he is also completing the Manchester Marathon, and is set to tackle this year's London Marathon in a 'sit ski.'
Mr Hughes also delivered an assembly to the children, as well as completing the school's mini marathon in his sit ski.
The total amount of items collected for Warrington Foodbank by the Appleton school clocked in at more than 1,000 items.
These will be taken to the foodbank, which has a distribution site at Tanners Court, as well as the store in the Golden Square Shopping Centre.
Matthew Hennessey said: "We would really like to promote the amazing generosity and kindness from the children at Broomfields, and the amazing work that goes on at Warrington Foodbank."
