LENNIE White may only be nine years old but he’s already achieving great things not least taking home the Junior Fundraiser of the Year Award at our annual Inspiration Awards earlier this month.
And the youngster has been inspired by fellow award nominees at The Village Hotel to start his next challenge this summer.
The Barrowhall Primary School pupil has spent the past few years fundraising and working hard in the community to support local charities and foodbanks.
He gathered food donations in support of Marcus Rashford’s campaign for free school meals in 2020 and in 2021, following the loss of a family friend, Lennie decided to raise money for Mind.
After running 100km in 30 days, he raised £1,249 to donate to the mental health charity.
Last year, Lennie completed 900 sit ups in just 21 days and made Christmas reindeer food and hot chocolate to sell, which helped to raise £1,500 for Warrington Youth Zone.

After listening to event presenter Leanne Campbell tell the audience about fellow Junior Fundraiser of the Year nominee Harrison Rylands and Fundraiser of the Year winner Harvey Ackerley and their fundraising treks up Mount Snowdon, Lennie now feels inspired to do the same.
Mum Melissa said: “Lennie is always thinking of others and puts one hundred per cent into everything he does.
“He now has his mind set on another fundraising event for 2023, which will be in aid of MND Association.
“He’s already raised £2,230 this year by doing a 46-mile bike ride so his next challenge will be to climb Wales’ highest mountain after listening to Harrison and Harvey’s stories.”
On Friday, March 3, Lennie got on his bike and cycled to all five north west Super League stadiums starting at Warrington Wolves and visiting Salford Red Devils, Leigh Leopards, Wigan Warriors and St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium.
As a lifelong Saints fan and someone who loves rugby, Lennie wanted to raise money for MND after seeing Kevin Sinfield arrive at the World Cup Final after completing his ultra seven marathons in seven days.
Highly commended in this category were Ivy Scott and Harrison Rylands.
