A FARMSTEAD in Glazebrook is being eyed for demolition, with a housing development to take its place.
Developers are planning to raze the farmstead to the ground in order to build eight new homes on the land.
According to plans submitted to Warrington Borough Council's planning bosses, the land - off Glazberook Lane - would be redeveloped into a mixture of three and four-bedroomed houses.
The documents available on the council's online planning portal suggest that the land is currently occupied by office spaces, which have been vacant for some time.
Paperwork seen by the Warrington Guardian suggests that the developers believe the eight new homes would create less traffic than the office block used to - the site was previously the subject of an application to build 19 new apartments, though this did not come to pass.
Regarding previous applications, the developers note that the eight new homes would create less traffic than the previously-agreed 19 apartments would have done.
The existing manor house is planned to remain on the site, however.
Built in 1851, the building in question was previously used as a residential property before becoming an office space in 1990.
The premises were formerly occupied by engineering support company Make UK, but have been vacant since April 2019.
These plans are currently being considered by planning officers at Warrington Borough Council, with a decision due by Tuesday, May 9.
