A RENEWED appeal is being made to locate a suspect charged over a shocking rape incident in Warrington town centre.
Jafar Mohammed is wanted by Cheshire Police in connection with a breach of crown court bail.
The 33-year-old, of Manchester Road, was charged last month with two counts of rape and five counts of sexual assault.
These charges relate to incidents which reportedly occurred back in September on Buttermarket Street.
At around 1am on September 9, officers received a call reporting a ‘serious sexual assault’ of a teenager.
Police tape was in place in the vicinity at the time and a number of officers were in attendance.
Mohammed was again due to appear before Liverpool Crown Court this morning, Tuesday, in relation to the rape allegations.
He failed to turn up, with a bench warrant issued for his arrest.
Cheshire Police are appealing for any information from the public to help locate him.
The force says Mohammed was residing in Warrington, but he was last seen in the Crewe area on February 27.
A spokesman said: “It is possible he may now be elsewhere in the country.”
He is described as being around 5ft 9ins, of medium build, with brown hair and a distinctive tattoo of Hindi writing above his left eye.
Anyone who sees Mohammed should call Cheshire Police on 999, quoting IML 1490704.
