A SPORT and social club in Culcheth is set to raise funds to support those displaced due to the illegal invasion of Ukraine.
The Daten, off Charnock Road in Culcheth, will be the site of an evening of live music which will be used to raise funds for the Ukrainian Family Hub.
This is the latest in a line of fundraisers that the Daten has supported, with the Ukrainian Family Hub using the club as the base of its operations.
The committee of the Daten has worked tirelessly to refurbish and renovate the premises, aiming to restore it to the heart of the community - where it has been since it was built in the 1940s.
It was originally built by the UK Atomic Energy Authority as a social club for its employees, but was later sold to the community - the covenant on the building ensures it remains in use by and for the community of Culcheth.
On Saturday, April 15, the Daten will be used yet again to fundraise for the family hub, with the help of a local band.
The Lunar Youth will take to the stage in the main hall at the club, and will play two classic rock-inspired sets across the evening.
During the interval between sets, there will be hot food provided at the club, as well as a raffle draw, with all proceeds going toward the Ukrainian Family Hub.
The doors to the ballroom, where the band will play, will open at 7.30pm, with the Lunar Youth taking to the stage at 8.15pm.
According to the event's official website: "It will be a fantastic night with food included during the interval and a chance to win some prizes with a raffle.
"Make sure you bring some change to purchase your raffle tickets.
"The Daten's bar is open from 1pm, so head down early and grab a beer!"
The gig for the Ukrainian Family Hub will take place from 7.30pm on Saturday, April 15, at the Daten in Culcheth.
