A FIRE sparked a large emergency service presence off one of the town’s busiest roads this morning, Tuesday.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and Cheshire Police were in attendance at a house on Stafford Road, off Wilderspool Causeway.
According to the former, one fire engine from Warrington Fire Station attended the scene shortly before 7am.
This came after the crew received reports of a fire which broke out in the kitchen of a house.
A hose reel jet was used by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus to put out the fire, while a high-pressure fan was operated to clear smoke from the smoke logged home.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “One casualty was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
Police were called to attended as it was initially believed that the fire was started deliberately.
However, both Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have now confirmed, following an investigation, that the fire is believed to have started accidentally.
