A TEAM of budding Lewis Hamilton’s have raised £500 for Warrington Youth Zone.

Eighteen drivers from Langtree Property Partners on Wilderspool Causeway took to the racetrack on Slutchers Lane for a mini-fundraiser.

The firm is a founding patron of the youth zone so staff are always looking for ways to raise vital funds which is why they took to TeamSport Go Karting Warrington.

Langtree chief operating officer Malcom Johnsons said: “We’re a founding patron of the Youth Zone but we are always looking at other ways that we can support it, both financially and otherwise, and this was just a great way for us to mix some downtime with our team together with that commitment.”

Warrington Youth Zone, based on Dallam Lane, provides more than 20 activities every day for young people aged between seven and 19, or up to 25 with additional needs.

Since opening in July last year, so far more than 7,000 members have signed up and the facility has helped an average of 300 young people per day.

Langtree group chief executive John Downes sits on the board of Warrington Youth Zone.

He said: “This is one of the most significant charities in the town and worthy of all our support.

“Its impact is remarkable, and we will continue to support it how we can, and we’d encourage other businesses to look at how they can help it achieve its aims.”
