A DATE has been set for the funeral of Brianna Ghey - whose death sparked a murder investigation.
The 16-year-old teenager, from Birchwood, was found dead in Culcheth Linear Park on Saturday, February 11 at approximately 3.13pm.
Two 15-year-olds have been charged with the murder of the trans schoolgirl, with a plea hearing to take place in May, followed by the full trial in July.
Now, a date has been set for the funeral of the Birchwood High School student.
It has been announced that Brianna Ghey's funeral will take place on Wednesday, March 15.
According to a post on social media, Brianna's funeral will be held at St Elphin's Parish Church, off Church Street.
The service will begin at 2.45pm.
A portion of the social media post reads: "We finally have a date for our beautiful Brianna's funeral."
The post online suggests that Sainsbury's will be providing parking for those wishing to attend the funeral.
A dress code for the funeral has also been announced, which is requesting that attendees wear pink clothing to the service.
