POLICE were informed after arsonists started a deliberate fire in a wooded area close to Sankey Valley Park on Saturday.
One fire engine from Warrington attended the incident at approximately 5pm nearby Bewsey Farm Close in Old Hall.
The wooded area was in flames when the crew attended the scene and used a horse reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Cheshire Police were alerted to the incident.
