The incident took place on Sunday, February 19.
According to one report on social media, a man was spotted videoing three children playing football at the park.
The report continues that the man was allegedly filming the children through the window of his car.
When approached by an adult, the man reportedly 'said he wasn't doing anything, and fled the scene quickly in his car.'
Having been contacted by the Warrington Guardian regarding this incident, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 1.10pm on Sunday, February 19, police were made aware of suspicious activity at Birchwood Park.
"The caller reported that they had seen an older man hanging around the park earlier that day. They believed the man was possibly filming videos on his phone.
"The caller approached the man and asked what he was doing, the man stated that he had done nothing wrong and got back into his car.
"No arrests have been made and there have been no reports of any similar incidents."
