AN 'Emo Prom' event is heading back to the centre of Warrington later this month.
The event is part of WArrington Music's (WAM) Asylum series.
These 'Asylum' events are not new, having been around for a number of years, before Covid-19 put an end to them.
However, the Asylum nights were reignited in the summer of 2021, and have been a smash hit with Warrington's revellers.
Now, another 'Emo Prom' event is taking place, following the huge success of the first prom night held on Valentine's Day this year.
Announcing the event to the Warrington Guardian, WAM said: "The monthly Club Night was relaunched in July 2021 at FC2 on Barbauld Street and has gone from strength to strength with some of the most unique nights in the town.
"Following Warrington's first-ever Emo Prom in 2022 for Valentine's Day, it is back on Friday 24th February.
"It doesn't matter whether patrons decide to dress up or down, two lucky guests will be walking away as the 2023 King and Queen of Asylum - yes there will be a sash!
"There will also be black roses, a balloon drop, a slow dance and an opportunity to get a photo with your 'prom date' on arrival with the in-house photographer."
Founder of Asylum, Lee Harman, said: “Every month we play the very best in rock, metal, pop-punk, alternative and of course, emo music but we want every month to be unforgettable and as such are pulling out all the stops for our second Prom event.
"This is totally unique for Warrington as we dress the venue with hundreds of balloons and black roses."
"We had so much excitement for our first 'Emo Prom' with people digging out their old dresses and waistcoats."
Lee added: "We want this to be our second biggest event of the year behind Halloween and with other great nights planned in 2023 including tribute bands We Aren't Paramore, and Stiff Bizkit coming to Warrington, it's a great time to be a fan of alternative music and culture."
The Emo Prom event will take place on Friday, February 24, at FC2 in Warrington town centre.
