A VIOLENT teenager attacked a woman inside the toilets of a town centre bar before following her outside and continuing to beat her up.
Saoirce Daly and her friend, who is soon to be sentenced, both began assaulting the woman after she accidentally walked in on the cubicle they were in Hideout Tiki Bar on Sankey Street.
After chasing after the victim outside and pulling her to the ground, they only 'got off her' once her police officer boyfriend arrived.
Daly, 19, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court last Thursday after pleading guilty to assault.
The court heard how the incident happened on December 4 just after midnight when the victim accidentally walked in on Daly, of West Bank Street, Widnes, and her friend in a cubicle.
She apologised, but the pair began shouting and assaulted her, pulling her hair and punching her in the face before bringing her to the floor.
They stopped assaulting her once someone else entered the toilet and the victim went outside where her boyfriend was picking her up.
Warrington Magistrates’ Court was told how Daly, who is a hairdresser, and four other girls were waiting outside. When they spotted the victim, someone shouted ‘go get her’ and they chased after her before once again assaulting her and pulling her to the floor.
They only stopped once her boyfriend became involved and declared he was a police officer.
The court was shown pictures of the victim’s injuries to her face and legs.
Daly has a previous conviction for battery – for an incident which again, involved her same friend.
Representing herself, Daly was asked by the deputy district judge whether she wanted to say anything.
“Not really,” she said.
However, she then told the court about injuries she sustained in the incident – involving a ripped fingernail which she said she needed surgery for.
Daly acknowledged that her behaviour was ‘wrong’.
Concluding, deputy district judge John Lowe said: “It appears when you and this friend get together that you both behave in an uncontrollable way.
“In future, if you find yourself in any kind of trouble, you need to walk away.”
Daily was handed a one-year community order in which she must complete up to 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
She must also complete 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £100 compensation to the victim as well as paying £120 prosecution costs and a £114 surcharge.
