A LATCHFORD man who previously attacked a healthcare assistant has been jailed for possessing cannabis.
Harrison Lauront, of New Road, Latchford, was caught in possession of cannabis in October, just ‘a few weeks’ after receiving a suspended sentence order.
He received the suspended sentence back in June for assaulting an emergency worker and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The 25-year-old appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court last week after pleading guilty to possessing a controlled drug of class B, cannabis.
By possessing cannabis, this meant Lauront had committed a further offence during the operational period of the suspended sentence.
He was handed a 20-week prison sentence by the magistrates.
Court documents state that the reason for custody is that the possession of cannabis was a ‘few weeks’ after receiving a suspended sentence order and that ‘there has been a wilful and persistent failure to comply’ with a previous community order.
