CHESHIRE Police evacuated a building on Birchwood Park due to a 'suspicious package.'
The premises in question are home to Eurofins Forensics, Risley.
Reports were first made of a large police presence on social media, with one person claiming that a 'suspicious package' was the reason for evacuation.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed to the Warrington Guardian that a building on Faraday Street was evacuated this afternoon.
The spokesperson also confirmed that the fire and rescue service also attended the scene.
Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, a spokesperson said: "At around 1pm today, Thursday, February 9, police were called to reports of an incident at premises on Faraday Street, Warrington.
"Police attended and found that staff members had raised concerns regarding an item that was being tested at the facility.
"The building was evacuated as a precaution and fire also attended the scene."
The spokesperson added: "It has been confirmed that there is no risk to the public and staff have gone back into the building."
