TRAFFIC on the M62 eastbound is heavily congested between junctions 10 and 11.
According to the AA, a collision took place and was reported at 7.05am.
The incident took place near the interchange between the M62 and the A574, Birchwood Way - the collision was between two cars, and there were no injuries reported.
The AA's website suggests that traffic is slow-moving from the M62 passing through Westbrook up to halfway between J10 and J11.
North West Traffic News is also reporting congestion between J10 and J11.
According to some reports, congestion is falling onto the M6 as a result of earlier heavy congestion.
This junction was the scene of a serious traffic collision on the morning of Tuesday, January 31, which saw one motorist killed.
Since the incident, all lanes have been reopened.
An incident report says: "Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on M62 Eastbound from J10 M6 J21A (Croft Interchange) to J11 A574 Birchwood Way (Birchwood).
"Congestion to J9 (Winwick) with traffic falling onto the M6 back to J25 (Bryn). All lanes have been re-opened. Travel time is around 20 minutes.
"Road has re-opened after traffic was stopped for around fifteen minutes."
National Highways NW told the Warrington Guardian: "We received a report at 6.59am that there had been a two-vehicle collision.
"The closure was in place for a short period to allow for one of the vehicles to be safely recovered - the other vehicle didn’t require recovery - and traffic was released at 7.20am."
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "At 7am NWMPG were made aware of a minor collision on the M62 between Junction 10 and 11.
"The incident involved two vehicles, there were no injuries and the scene was cleared by Highways Officers."
