A ROAD closure that is set to disrupt links between Culcheth and Leigh this month has been given an update by the council.
According to a Warrington Borough Council spokesperson, major roadworks are set to take place in order for 'highway improvement works' to take place.
The roadworks are set to take place on Broseley Lane in Culcheth, close to Leigh Golf Course, with signage being present for the works up to Twiss Green Lane.
It is expected that traffic flow through the village via Common Lane will face disruption as a result of the roadworks.
Signage around the area states that the roadworks will commence on Monday, February 20, and will last for one week.
The road will close between 9.30am and 3.30pm on each of these days.
Resurfacing works will take place on some of the cordoned-off roads, too.
A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson told the Warrington Guardian: "Highway improvement works are taking place on Broseley Lane, Culcheth, at the bend near to Leigh Golf Club.
"This includes carriageway re-profiling, as well as the installation of safety kerbs.
“There will be temporary traffic lights in use while the work is carried out, but from Monday 20 February, Broseley Lane will be closed between Hob Hey Lane and Wilton Lane for a week, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, to enable the road to be resurfaced.
"There will be a diversion in place.”
