Following a number of emergency works, which included barrier repairs and road resurfacing, J10 of the M62 has reopened this morning, Wednesday.
Speaking to National Highways NW on Tuesday, the Warrington Guardian learned that the junction would not be ready in time for rush hour on January 31, and National Highways warned that works on the junction were likely to run into the night.
There were two incidents that caused numerous delays to the M62 yesterday.
The first took place on Monday night (January 30) and involved a lorry that burst into flames - the inferno was severe enough that 65 metres of carriageway had to be resurfaced between J7 and J8 of the M62 eastbound.
The #M62 eastbound between J7 (#StHelens) and J8 (#Burtonwood) has REOPENED following an earlier HGV fire and subsequent resurfacing operation.

The second incident was the HGV collision that took place at Croft Interchange, which claimed the life of an as-yet-unidentified motorist.
Cheshire Constabulary said that they are appealing for witnesses regarding the J10 collision, though it is understood that the driver of the second HGV is uninjured and cooperating with the police's enquiries.
J7 and J8 of the M62 remained closed until around 6pm last night, and J10 was closed until approximately 6am this morning, February 1.
