LOVE letters sent by a serviceman stationed overseas have been discovered concealed in the loft of a home in Fearnhead.

The homeowners are now appealing to find the family of the deceased lady they belong to.

A bag full of letters addressed to a Lillian Morpeth were found hidden in the attic of the house located on Bromley Close.

The letters appear to have come from a former member of the armed forces named ‘Bob’ who was based in Hong Kong at the time they were written.

Inside the bag a picture of a man was also found, along with an old shorthand book titled ‘Pitman’s Shorthand, New Era Edition’.

Many of the envelopes that hold the letters have written on the back ‘Mountain Rescue Sector’ as well as ‘RAF KAI TAK’ which was formerly a Royal Air Force station in Hong Kong, based at Kai Tai airport.

Author Bob starts letters with ‘My dearest darling Lillian’ and in one sweet letter finishes it with ‘P.S. The days will soon roll by my love; we will be together again soon’.

The family who found the possessions are keen to reunite them relatives of the lady and ask that anyone who may know any information about Lilian Morpeth should get in contact with the Warrington Guardian.

They said: “I know it’s a long shot, but I would want someone to do it for me for my passed relative for memory sake.”
